Father’s Day Popularity
We know from experience that both mother’s day and father’s day is celebrated differently. While we see them as different occasions they hold the same principle of celebrating the motherhood and fatherhood of your parents.
This practice has been around for as long as we have recorded history. In earlier times, these celebrations were not called by the same name they were never the less the same in nature. Across the world we see different people celebrate these special occasions uniquely and one tends to ask which is more popular.
Mothers Day
Mothers day is celebrated very differently around the world. In western countries, it holds superiority over father’s day and is celebrated by showing more emotions. You can get some idea of the popularity of Mothers Day in the USA by looking at the Goggle search volume for common keyword phrases:

On the eastern side of the globe, mother’s day is a bit toned down. While they do celebrate the basic aspect of mother’s day it has not yet reached the popular level as compared to western societies. In eastern culture while mothers are regularly shown affection they tend to not pick out a specific day just for mothers. This however is not the case when we look at western cultures. Mother’s day in the west is very wide spread and is basically celebrated by everyone. Some of the popular traditions done on mother’s are, breakfast in bed, giving of flowers and the gift of chocolate.
Fathers Day
Now let’s look at father’s day. This celebration is exactly opposite when compared to how mother’s day is celebrated. In the eastern part of the world father’s day has a higher rank than mother’s day. On fathers they it is typical to see children playing and doing more boyish activates with their fathers. This is done in western society as well but in a much smaller scale. Father’s day is known to be a day when we give our fathers a break from their regular schedules, do something fun or just allow them to relax and share some memories.
Over a period of time these two celebrations have grown tremendously. It has now become more of an international standard and is practiced by one and all. Even if one does not fully take part in this celebration they still try to do extra special things for their parents.
In the past we see that these two celebrations were seen as a special occasion but were not taken to heart. It was just a day for parents and that’s it. While some say mother’s day is greater due to the achievements of mothers across the world other say the opposite and prefer father’s day.
Whichever view you may choose it still does not change the fact that to have start a family you need a mother and a father. A woman cannot have a child on her own am so too can a father not give birth. They have equal share is the love that is to be shown to them. Mothers may show a greater display of emotion but the love and affection shown to both are equal.
